why food?
Food has imperfections and beauty at the same time, and it evokes memories in people. Food has grown and lived and I sculpt my miniatures that way: 'growing' each item, 'ripening' or 'baking' it through layers of colour and texture. My challenge and delight is to create this in a space dictated by scale yet recognizable by all.
details schmetails...
All of my miniature food is sculpted, painted, and finished by hand. These pieces are sculpted in polymer and paper clays, resins and other materials. Every attempt is made to recreate the perfection in nature through color, texture, shape, and size. Individual pieces are carefully selected and glued into an arrangement according to how they look most natural. Because of this, slight variations occur.
As an artist, I appreciate your patronage and am pleased my work will become part of your collection. If you would like to know more about my studio and me, click on About the Artist.
